Metro Council is putting together a $220 million bond measure proposal focused on purchasing natural areas throughout the region. The BTA is working to make sure that trails are included in the final proposal.
The BTA believes that trails are good for bicyclists:
- Trails provide car-free bicycling for fun, recreation, and transportation
- Trails serve a unique function in the transportation network
- Trails provide a chance for novice cyclists to gain skills and confidence
- Cyclists tell us that they love trails
- Trails support the Portland area’s growing stature as a bicycle tourism destination
Please attend an open house to help Portland decide which trails projects they will propose. You will be able to give comments and suggestions to the Metro Council and Portland Parks & Recreation.
