Bike law hits the small screen

Well, it had to happen – the BTA’s breaking into prime time.

OK, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but I was recently invited to speak about bicycling for the Oregon State Bar’s cable access show, entitled Legal Links. I was glad to participate, particularly so that we could get this important bicycling information to our members and friends around the state.

Cycling law expert attorney Ray Thomas and I discuss bike safety, the letter of the law for bikes, common mistakes by cyclists and drivers, and more on this half-hour show.

You can find out more about the show and watch the video online here.

You can also call your local cable access station to find out if and when they’re airing it. (There’s a list of Oregon state cable access shows on the web page as well.)

Here are the specific schedules I’ve been told so far (warning: apparently cable access schedules aren’t set in stone):

Lane County (Channel 29)
Monday, June 5 at 1 a.m. and at 1 p.m.

Portland and East Metro (Channel 21)
Monday, May 29 at 4:30pm
Thursday, June 22 at 2pm

Portland Community Media (Cable Station 22)
Sunday, 6/11 or Sunday 6/25 at 9 a.m. (they haven’t decided which will be our episode yet)

Please help spread the word to anyone who would be interested.
