Vancouver, WA (aka “America’s Vancouver”) recently received a bronze bike rating from the League of American Bicyclists. But they need to do even more. Please comment on the Vancouver Central City Vision, especially on the details of bike access to and around downtown.
Vancouver is remarkably close to Portland — a 25-minute bike ride from my Northeast Portland home. It’s also home to many folks who commute to and from Oregon cities, and making it bike-friendly is critical in keeping the greater Metro area ahead of the curve on biking issues.
The City’s August 2006 Central City Vision report had a detailed 6-part plan on parking management, and only one sentence about bike facilities. They need to hear what needs gettin’ done!
Thanks for your help.
