More details of this amazing event in the days to come, but happy International Walk+Bike to School Day! People in 38 countries took part, including over 18,000 kids in Oregon at 90 schools.
Walkers going to Sunnyside school this morning, using new bilingual signs as well as some of the new “Share the Road” signs that people can get for their lawns.

Portland Mayor Tom Potter joined us at the event, as did Commissioner Adams, Oregon State Epidemiologist Dr. Mel Cohn and Meeky Blizzard of Congressman Blumenauer’s office.

Pretty cool pics, but I believe the “cello” in the second picture is actually a guitar. A cello is much wider and taller than the instrument shown.
