Commander Marty Rowley is retiring as head of the Portland Police Traffic Division this week or next, due to pension changes. He had served in the police department for 30 years, I believe.
Lt. Kruger, who has been the second-in-charge, will be the interim head of the Traffic Division until a permanent hire is made to replace Cmdr. Rowley.
Lt. Kruger has been working with the biking community on a traffic safety diversion class, as well as other safety projects, including a pedestrian safety video.
