Lead the Pack on Cycle Oregon’s Twentieth Anniversary Ride

Cycle Oregon week rideA few American traditions use roman numerals to describe them. The Super Bowl, for one. Cycle Oregon, for another. This year’s Cycle Oregon ride is the 20th — Cycle Oregon XX.

And they’re putting on a double-Xtra special ride for folks. A amazing route feature some of Oregon’s most jaw-dropping sights, from Crater Lake to the Three Sisters, the desert to the forest to lava slides. The tour starts in Sisters and goes south for a loop around Crater Lake and then heads back north (full map).

But here’s the kicker: YOU can have the number-one wristband, and tent and porter service. That’s right — you can wear the number one, and get pampered at both ends of each daily ride with great food, entertainment, massages, etc. They lug your stuff. You lug yourself.

How, you ask? Well, come to the BTA’s Alice Awards and Auction dinner and bid on the package during our live auction. Here’s the complete description of the item:

20th Anniversary Ride!

“The Best Bike Ride in America”

That’s a pretty big claim…but they’re not our words. They come from our riders.

What prompts this kind of response from first-timers as well as ride veterans? It’s a unique blend of ingredients – call it our “special sauce – that lifts Cycle Oregon above event rides and guided tours to the level of… well, near-mystical experience.

Cycle Oregon always includes our signature elements. Stunning scenery. Tribal camaraderie. Personal challenge. The satisfaction of giving back to Oregon communities. Abundant food and drink. Eclectic live entertainment. And a couple thousand people in tight clothes.

This year is our 20th Anniversary, and we’re going all out. The Cycle Oregon 2007 course is an amazing Cascades loop that takes in wide-open high desert, primeval old-growth forest, pristine blue lakes, bubbling mountain streams and even moonscapes of lava rock. We’ll ride on roads that cars don’t even know about. Your week on wheels will capture the true essence of Oregon – including the small-town hospitality we’re famous for. This item is good for the September 2007 Cycle Oregon. Buyer can donate the ride to another rider if not used personally.

Thanks, as always, to Cycle Oregon for their ongoing support of rural development and of the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s work!
