This just in from the Oregonian:
WASHINGTON — U.S. House leaders on Friday appointed Oregon Reps. Earl Blumenauer and Greg Walden to a new committee that will study global warming.
They will join five other Republicans and eight other Democrats on the new Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.
This could be another boost for bikes, as Rep. Blumenauer founded the Congressional Bike Caucus, and Rep. Walden is a member of that caucus.
We’ll touch base with them on what impact this may have when we’re in Washington, DC next week for the National Bike Summit.
