Downtown Portland, where the BTA’s office is and many of our members work, is in constant flux.
Now, however, more than usual, it is under construction, mainly driven by the light rail construction (that’s tearing down the BTA office, among other things), but also by sewer projects, other bridge and road construction, and new retail and office construction.
We’re serving on the Keep Portland Moving task force, and are providing feedback to the City to try to make sure that people realize that biking is one easy way to avoid being stuck in traffic.
But with construction, there are going to be concerns about signage, debris, gravel, etc. for cyclists as well as pedestrians and drivers.
To stay up to date on the construction and what’s what, visit keepportlandmoving.org. If you have concerns, the City wants to hear about them at 503-865-MOVE.
