Tonight’s Women for Bikes discussion (6:30-8:00 pm, in the 2nd floor auditorium at 1120 SW 5th Ave, Portland) is called “Safe and Comfortable in the Rain and the Dark.”
I’ll be talking about ways we can be more visible as commuting hours get darker and windshields rainier, stay warm when it gets cold without getting TOO warm and sweaty, and stay dry all over in the rain.
We’ll talk about lighting, reflective stuff, raingear, fenders, panniers, gloves and booties, hats and so on.
But we’ll also spend time talking about skills for bike safety and how to ratchet them up when it’s dark and wet.
Biking through the winter can be comfy and safe, and can even help keep away the blues! Come join us to find out how.
(If you can’t make it tonight, join us November 13th at the BTA office for a Winter Biking Workshop, from 6-7 pm.)
