As you’re desperately clawing your way through the back of your closet looking for something to wear to the Alice Awards and Auction tomorrow night, we thought you’d appreciate a few pointers and ideas to kick-start your creativity.
• The cycling community doesn’t have many opportunities to dress up–we hope you’ll take that to heart and wow us!
• Formalwear is encouraged, especially by Executive Director Scott Bricker!
• Costumes related to the Paris theme are also encouraged. Here’s a theme costume from last year. Perhaps you’d like to dress up like a French maid, Jean ValJean from Les Miserables, French nobility, Gene Kelly in An American in Paris, Amelie, or maybe even this guy. There are also lots of designers to choose from: Yves Saint-Laurent, Chanel, or Christian Louboutin, just to name a few.
• What kind of bike party would be complete without lycra? Bike wear is to be expected. Lycra tuxedos are available, you know!
• There’s also nothing wrong with just dressing to make a big splash. Check out the threads that Chris King and Rex Burkholder have worn in the past.
