Last Friday Governor Ted Kulongoski joined 100 Salem bike commuters for their monthly Breakfast on Bikes event.
The Mid-Willamette Valley chapter of the BTA, led by Doug Parrow and Eric Lundgren, organizes the morning breakfasts and every month they’ve attracted more commuters.
Meanwhile, the Governor challenged state employees to try biking to work this summer and has been biking himself to set a good example (with a police escort and a guaranteed ride home if needed he probably has the sweetest commute in the valley).

What he should do is have a few “police escorts” that can bike the route with him do so.
Lot of good it does for him to “set an example” when he has a motorcade anyway.
…or am I wrong and his escort is bike friendly?
