One of my favorite father-son memories is of annual trips to the New England Auto Show in Boston. I’d like to believe that if my childhood came 20 years later and a few thousand miles to the west, Dad would have taken me to Oregon Manifest.*
Here’s some good news: Portland Public Schools are not in session this Friday, but Oregon Manifest IS.
Kids 12 and under get in FREE to the Oregon Manifest Handmade Bike Show and we’d love to see them there. From minimal track bikes, to family haulers, to folding bikes, to wild freakbikes, there will be plenty to capture the young imagination. It’s no secret that more and more families are getting around by bike and quite a few of Oregon’s framebuilders are on the cutting edge of this trend, having made custom family bikes. Here’s your chance to talk with those builders…with kids in tow!

*Don’t get me wrong. I love car shows. It’s fun to play with the stereos, collect goofy marketing stuff, and lock your siblings in trunks. Plus, car shows represent the safest time kids are likely to spend in and around cars. Embrace them!
