On Wednesday, November 19th, the Vancouver, BC, professor Gordon Price will be giving a free presentation in Portland on the elegant integration of transportation and high-density urban environments.
I’ve seen Price speak twice and was really inspired and enlightened both times. Two years ago he gave a presentation that made me think about the psychology of driving in a whole new way, and he also told the story of the platting and building of Vancouver, BC’s street grid starting 200 years ago (a story that we can also tell about Portland). He’s got great intellectual range and is an engaging speaker – I highly recommend you go!
Wednesday, November 19th
6:30 – 8:30 pm
Portland Building
1120 SW 5th Ave, 2nd floor auditorium
For more info, see Price’s online magazine and blog
This presentation is technically part of the PDOT/PSU Traffic and Transportation Class, so the last 30 minutes will be taken up by questions from students – the public is also welcome to participate in this part.
mmmmm… sounds excellent!
