Nominate your bike hero for an Alice Award!

Has an individual, business, government agency or community group you know provided inspiration to cyclists, made biking safer or easier, or helped make bikes a part of the fabric of your community? Nominate them for an Alice Award!

The Alice B. Toeclips Awards (named after Gertrude Stein’s liberated, cycling heroine Alice B. Toklas) have been given to bike advocates of all types since 1995.

In March of next year, at the Alice Awards & Auction, we’ll be honoring all of the nominees and five awardees from around Oregon and SW Washington – but first you have to nominate them!

Nominations are due by January 1, 2009. Former winners are not eligible to win again. We are happy to receive more information on nominees, so feel free to re-nominate someone who is already on the list but make sure to tell us something special about them! The number of times a person is nominated is not a factor in selection.

The Alice Awards Committee, comprised of community members and BTA board members, will meet in January to choose the five Award winners.
