Q: What happens when the BTA Programs Manager moonlights as a square dance caller?
A: You get a BTA Benefit Square Dance!

We hope you’ll come join us Monday, January 26 at the Village Ballroom for fantastic live music from the Greasy Chain String Band and square dance calling from yours truly (Yup, the one that sends all those Bike Commute Challenge emails.)

Haven’t square danced since 6th grade gym class? No problem; We’ll teach you everything you need to know, and you’ll have a lot more fun than you did in middle school. You don’t need a partner, you don’t need experience, and if you need a beer first, we’ll have plenty on hand.

You would never consider square dancing in a million years? Well then just come have a drink and watch the fun.

Mon., Jan. 26th. Bar opens at 6:30; Dancing starts at 7:00.
Village Ballroom, 700 NE Dekum
Suggested Donation: $5-$25; pay what you can. All ages welcome!

Are you planning to make this a regular event?

The Greasy Chain String Band is hoping to host a monthly benefit Square Dance at the Village Ballroom-each a month a benefit for a different non-profit. There is a dance scheduled for February 23 to benefit the Portland Fruit Tree Project.
It will depend on how many people show up for the first two events, and how many drinks the venue sells to determine if they’re willing to give the space for a continuing series.
