Our February maintenance day for the Safer Routes to School bike safety fleet was the biggest yet. We had 11 volunteers come out on a glorious Saturday afternoon to wrench on bikes, nosh on coffee and donuts and share favorite ride stories.
We tuned up eighty-three 20″, 24″ and 26″ wheel bikes that we use in our bike safety education programs in schools throughout the Portland Metro area. Without the help of our dedicated mechanics and maintenance volunteers we would not be able to offer the high level of safety and service that sets the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s, Bike Safety Education program apart from any other in the Nation!
