Last year, the City of Portland sponsored the first Sunday Parkways event in Portland. It was a six mile loop of residential streets closed to fossil fuel-burning vehicles. Portland residents walked, biked and rolled along the carfree route, enjoyed live music in the parks and entertainment along the way.
This year the City is putting on three Sunday Parkway events, and needs 400 volunteers to make them happen.
-Volunteers are needed now to help pass out doorhangers in North and Northeast Portland. They can help anytime during daylight hours over a five day period.
-Intersection superhero volunteers are needed at each of the events: June 21, July 19 and August 16.
