Esplanade bike detour near OMSI
Bike traffic on the Eastbank Esplanade between the Hawthorne Bridge and SE Caruthers Street will be temporarily detoured to SE Water Avenue Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, 2009.

In TriMet’s words: “In preparation for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Project’s new bridge over the Willamette River, crews will be collecting geotechnical samples along the riverbank using heavy equipment.
Cyclists can dismount and walk through the work zone, but TriMet recommends following the detour route instead to avoid delays.”

Bring a new rider to the J Café between 7 and 10 AM, and you and your new rider(s) will receive a free beverage and free lunch coupons*. You can redeem your coupon at the J Café (533 NE Holladay), June 16-19th. Also, join Lloyd bicyclists for a picnic at the Kaiser Permanente Plaza Park, across the street from the J Café, at NE Holladay and 6th at 12 PM on any of these dates. (Oregon Square gazebo in the event of inclement weather.)
*New riders can receive one free lunch during the week. Existing riders can get treats as often as they bring new riders in.
