ODOT reevaluates Oregon City bridge closure to bikes and peds

On Friday of last week local elected officials, ODOT staff, business representatives and the BTA met at the Arch Bridge over the Willamette River between Oregon City and West Linn to discuss the span’s impending repair and closure.

Halfway through writing this blog post, BikePortland.org posted an excellent summary of the meeting and its implications – read it here.

ODOT will put together a team to investigate some of the ideas generated by local leaders for keeping the two sides of the river connected during the closure. The BTA has asked to be on that team so we can be sure a solution is put in place to maintain, if not enhance, biking and walking between West Linn and Oregon City and around the south metro region.
