This must be how parents feel on the first day of school or at the first soccer game: proud but nervous, heart beating fast, wondering if their kids measure up.
Today was my mom’s first ever bike commute day, and she was awesome. Now I get to pay her back for all the embarrassing photos of me at the soccer field with this Bike Commute Challenge photo of the day:
And here’s Mom’s testimonial after her first day.
“So I just love Liz’s bike – I want to find one like it, it was SO comfortable and such a blast to ride down Montgomery. I found a great route, mainly back streets and went to two open houses.
Tomorrow I think I will bike again!
PS Thanks for getting me to do this!!
XOXO Mama”
GO MOM!

What an inspiration to us all!
The newer bicycles really help. Good work Liz and Mom!
What kind of bike is that? It’s really cool (and apparently comfortable)
Wow! What a nervy thing to do! O am so impressed! You are a great role model for us all!
The bike is a Trek cruiser – SO comfortable. It is Liz’s bike and she’s leaving for DC in a few days so I’m on the hunt for a cruiser of my own! I saw a Bianchi cruiser at 21st Ave Bikes that I’ll be trying tomorrow.
I think it’s great you choose to ride today, keep up the good work!
Mom gleams of inspiration and motivation! Good for her! One less car on the road that day:)
Hey Betsy! You are very cute and an inspiration to us
fellow Realtors. Keep up the good work and having
fun doing it!
Super cool! You need to get yourself an awesome bike, I’d say you are hooked! (Love my Bianchi)

I was driving up Vista and caught a glimpse of the capitol letter “B” that Betsy uses in her real estate collateral. It took a minute before I recognized that it was Betsy on the bike. I was inspired
to dust off my bike and put some air in the tires!
Go aunt betsy !! good for you, i am bringing my bike to portland!
Way to go Betsy! There is no cuter biker on the road and you inspire all of us!
