Ashland, OR

Some of us are so fond of biking because we are so fond of eating. The more we bike, the more delicious food we can consume. What’s your favorite treat stop on your way to or from work?

We’re featuring a Bike Commute photo-of-the-day on our blog every weekday in September in celebration of the Bike Commute Challenge. Send your bike commute photo to stephanie[at]bta4bikes[dot]org

He didn’t lock his bike! I wish I could do that without losing my bike :)

I love Food Front in Hillsdale because they let me bring my bike into the store. This means I don’t have to lug my heavy lock home from work every day. Every ounce counts when I’m climbing home from downtown Portland!

Darn! No baked goods along the route to work for me- I’m having a difficult enough time just getting to work on time during the challenge. It was better today! :)

There are ripe blackberries all over. You can smell them from the road in the warm afternoons.

Lucky for me 97% of the morning commute is flat or downhill from Multnomah Village. I don’t get too sweaty but going home I make up for it going up and over Terwilliger Blvd.

Merrill has some very tasty rasberry bearclaws there; that’s his Redline 925. If you tried to grab it, he’d smack you upside the head with a baguette before you got two feet.
