Sorry. It’s not cancelled.

I’m writing this over 4 hours before 2010 and 16 hours before the BTA’s New Years Day Ride is scheduled to start yet regardless of what may happen in those hours, I assure you:

The New Years Day ride is not cancelled.

Not even cancelled a little bit.

Not even cancelled a little bit.

Maybe it’s rainy.
Maybe it’s snowy.
Maybe you’re tired.
Maybe the world has been struck by the dreaded Y2K10 bug
No excuses folks. The New Years Day Ride is on.

See you at noon under the West End of the Morrison Bridge.

Fun facts:
-The ride will be under 15 miles on low/no traffic streets.
-Wonky celebrities will be in attendance.
-Trailhead Coffee Roasters will be serving up fresh gourmet coffee!
-Cool prizes will be given out just for showing up (at the end).
-I bet you 2 Advil and that blinky light you lost last night that we will go to places you’ve never gone before.*
-If you can’t bring finger foods to share, that’s okay. I just think it’d be nice if you did.
-It would also be nice if you brought a friend, or a kid, or your mother in law.

Also:
If you’re up EXTRA early and LIKE riding up big hills, BTA staffer Kristin Bott is leading her own ride called the Up and ATOM ride. It starts at Stumptown downtown at 9am and just might be back in time for the not-cancelled BTA New Years Day Ride. Consider!

*must be present to win.

    That’s everywhere, not everyone.
