Statewide Advocate Susan Peithman has been selected to represent the BTA on the committee that will lead the process to create the Oregon Health Improvement Plan (OHIP). The committee is made up of representatives from health, environmental, and education organizations statewide, including Kaiser Permanente, the Northwest Health Foundation, Portland State University, county health departments, and more.
The Oregon Health Policy Board chose the 24 members from 105 applications received.
The Oregon Health Improvement Plan will determine objectives and strategies that are proven to combat obesity and tobacco use and to manage chronic diseases. These include statewide and community-based policy, systems and environmental approaches, as well as addressing underlying conditions and social determinants of health.
this is a good to have BTA represented on this Committee. More can be accomplished through partnerships of organizations and indiviudals with common goals.
Hope that Susan enjoy participaing in this and will add the voice of cyclists to the discussion.
