According to a letter recently posted on the Portland Mercury blog, Portland and Vancouver mayors have joined Metro President David Bragdon and Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart in signing a letter to Oregon and Washington Governors saying, in essence, that the proposed CRC imposes “unacceptable impacts on our communities” and is too risky financially. In light of this, they’re demanding clear performance goals, a responsible financial plan, and more local control for the project.

Read the whole letter here.

This is an exciting step in the right direction. Our region cannot afford to deplete our transportation budget on outdated projects.

The next opportunity to speak up about the CRC is on Friday.
