Portland City Commissioners have an historic opportunity this Thursday to adopt a forward thinking bike master plan. The BTA will be there to tell them how important it is to create livable communities and active transportation options throughout the region.
Please join us at 1:30 pm at Portland City Hall (1221 SW 4th Ave.), to show your support for the Portland Bicycle Plan for 2030.
Though recent news articles give the impression that tomorrow’s vote for adoption is a done deal, it’s not. Commissioners may support the plan, but we need to show up in force to remind them to actually build the new bike lanes and boulevards the plan calls for.
It will take real political muscle over the next few months to make bicycling safe and convenient. Now is the time to show our strength as a community of people who ride bicycles for recreation and transportation and who want our leaders to take us even further toward a healthy future.
In addition to your support, 127 businesses recently sent a letter to Mayor Adams and Portland City Commissioners. If you want to deliver your own message directly and can’t join us on Thursday, submit your comments to:

It has been 14 years since Portland adopted a bicycle transportation plan. We are long overdue to adopt and implement a comprehensive citywide plan for active transportation. Please join us tomorrow at City Hall at 1:30 pm.
