Volunteer Saturday: Getting together & getting the word out!

How do we do it?

How do we have a conversation about safety, advocacy and the vibrancy of our community with thousands of people who ride their bikes all over this state, some in Bend, some in NoPo, some who ride every day, some who ride once a month, some with carbon bikes, some with cruisers, some who take the lane and some who pull a trail-a-bike with their child to school everyday?

Certainly, there’s no perfect way to do it. We know, though, that sending a letter out letting our members know what we’ve been up to and what’s coming next is a great way to get the conversation started.

On the second Saturday of every month an all volunteer team of BTA members get together for a few hours – usually from about 9:30-11:30) and send out hundreds and hundreds of just such letters to our members, asking them for their involvement and support.

It’s a lively crew, fueled by a generous offering of Stumptown Coffee and non-stop conversation about bike parts, bike routes, bike politics, the Blazers, and on and on.

Come join us this Saturday and have a great conversation with some fellow volunteers, and be a part of a great conversation with the membership of the BTA!

Yes, there’s not a perfect way, but we can try our best to find the best way.

    Hope everything will go better.
