This May in celebration of Walk+Bike Challenge Month, we invite everyone to walk or bike to their local farmers market! Many Oregon markets are participating. If you see your local market on the list, walk or bike there any week this month, and pick up a Walk+Bike sticker at the market information booth.
Send us a photo of you at the market, and you’ll be entered in a drawing to win an awesome Newport pack from Keen to carry your groceries home in all summer long!

Spread the word that nothing goes together like active transportation and fresh local food!
Some tips for Walking or Biking to the Market:
1. Bring a backpack or bike panniers. To keep fragile foods like fresh berries safe on the trip home, bring plastic containers (reused pint or quart-sized yogurt containers work great!) to load up with treasures at the market stand.
2. It’s easy to carry plant starts on your bike if you have a basket, milkcrate, trailer, or other flat surface. Arrange pots in a cardboard box or directly in your basket, and carefully pack other produce around them to keep them from falling over.
3. Remember to replenish those calories you burned on the way to the market by enjoying a treat while you’re there!
