How Can Oregon Improve Public Health Through Active Transportation?

Do you have ideas about improving public health in Oregon through active transportation? Take the Community Input Survey to share your thoughts and recommendations with the Health Improvement Plan (HIP) Committee.

The HIP Committee is composed of representatives from health, education, and environmental organizations from around the state. It aims to identify and develop effective strategies for the statewide Health Improvement Plan to improve population health such as targeting obesity, tobacco use, and combating chronic diseases.

The BTA serves on the HIP Committee to promote active transportation as a strategy for creating a healthier environment, and consequently, a healthier and more active community. We urge you to take action and contribute your perspective to the Health Improvement Plan discussion.

Take a few minutes to review the issues
The HIP Committee has been holding Community Listening Sessions to gather comments and policy recommendations for the Oregon Health Improvement Plan. Please take a few minutes to review the notes from these small group discussions. Then complete the survey to share your thoughts on what might have been missed, overlooked, or underrepresented.

The survey will run through July 2, 2010.

A final Community Listening Session will be held Thursday June 24, 2010 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm in Grand Ronde at the Tribal Community Center.
