Attend a Community Listening Session to Build a Better Portland

Mayor Sam Adams and the City of Portland are hosting a Community Listening Session at City Hall next Monday regarding the 2011 Oregon State Legislative Session. The City invites you to attend, listen in, and share your input about your neighborhood and community priorities as Portland shapes its 2011 legislative agenda. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 2, 2010 from 6:30 PM to 9 PM at City Hall, City Council Chambers, 1221 SW 4th Avenue, Second Floor.

Rail-Volution is Coming to Portland this October; Apply now for a Scholarship!

Rail-Volution: Building Livable Communities with Transit is a national conference that will be hosted by Portland this October 18th-21st. The conference aims to gather, connect, inspire, and educate those interested in integrating land use and transportation in the quest to create livable and sustainable communities. A limited number of scholarships are being offered to cover conference costs. Apply now! Applications are due August 20, 2010.

Volunteers Still Needed for Eugene’s Blackberry Jamboree-bRamble This Weekend

Volunteer for the Blackberry bRamble and Jamboree to be held in Eugene this weekend. It is the largest fundraising event for GEARs Education and helps with the bicycle education and outreach work of the BTA, GEARs and Safe Routes to School. Opportunities include marking the 15 mile route on Friday (7/30) and set up, registration, valet bike parking, pie servers, competition judges, beer garden attendants, and ride assistants for Saturday (7/31).
