Share your input on bicycling and walking conditions in Vancouver
Drafting a plan to improve conditions for riding bikes and walking in Vancouver, Washington during the next 20 years will be the topic of two open houses this summer. They will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, and Tuesday, Aug. 24.
26,140 motor vehicle miles saved in Bend’s Commute Options Week
A round of applause for all of the 77 businesses and individuals who participated in Bend, Oregon’s 20th annual Commute Options Week Commuter Challenge! 2,6140 car trips were saved and 1,422 bicycle trips were made during the week. This means that 25,356 pounds of Carbon Dioxide were eliminated from Oregon’s fresh air! Congratulations to the Commuter Challenge winners and a huge thank you to all who grabbed their helmet, jumped on their bike, and participated!

Every year the James L. Oberstar Safe Routes to School Award recognizes Safe Routes to School (SRTS) programs for outstanding achievement in improving the health and well-being of an entire generation of school children. The National Center for Safe Routes to School is looking for an exceptional SRTS program that has significantly improved the safety, accessibility, and frequency of elementary and middle school-aged students bicycling and waking to school to receive this award.
