Our April Service Stations are all set to go!
You can find our Recharge Station on April 5th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at N Williams & Russell with service support provided by Metropolis Cycle Repair and treats from New Season’s Market.
The Energizer Station will be April 15th from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. at the corner of NE 7th & Going with service support provided by The eBike Store and treats provided by Dave’s Killer Bread and Trailhead Coffee!
Our action and information for both of these stations will be to attend the N Williams Traffic Operations Safety Project Open House on April 16th.
The stations are modeled after the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition’s successful Energizer and Recharge Stations. We want to meet people on their regular commutes and in their neighborhoods with treats, service, and action. Each station is a mini membership hub. Volunteers are trained to sign you up and inform you of what we’re up to.
You will see future stations pop up twice monthly in the morning (Energize) and evening (Recharge) along high bike-traffic routes in different neighborhoods throughout the year. Each will have a different feel and unique partnerships with local businesses based on location.
May is National Bike Month and we will have a Recharge Station May 10th on the Hawthorne Bridge, an Energizer Station May 20th at Big Pink as well as a Bikes Mean Business! event, and a May 20th Recharge Station at a location TBA
it’s going to be awesome!
Thank you to Will V. and Kyle H. who attended the March 28th volunteer training and whom you will see on the streets this spring, make sure to stop and say hello.
This is a great volunteer opportunity. We are hosting trainings April 25th, May 23rd and June 20th. Future trainings will be announced monthly. This is a membership outreach event and volunteers should be BTA members themselves when asking others to join.
