Virtual Open House for Washington County’s Transportation System Plan Update

Do you envision a Washington County more friendly to walking and bicycling? Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation is asking for public input on its Transportation System Plan (TSP) for 2035 – a long-term plan that defines transportation priorities and will shape policies for the County’s residents, businesses, and visitors.

This is your chance to review current policies, speak out about what works and what needs to be changed, and shape the future transportation system of Washington County.

Let Washington County know what’s important to you, and how it invests in a healthier community, economy, and environment. Do you want to see more bicycle education programs or extended bike lanes, to help improve safety? Do your travel needs include closing certain sidewalk gaps or building new bike paths? Your opinion is crucial in demonstrating the importance of making bicycling and walking more accessible, safe, and convenient for everyone.

We encourage you to include these priorities in your comments:

  • Prioritizing road projects that close existing gaps in the pedestrian and bicycle network.
  • Including world-class bicycle facilities on all new roadway projects.

Visit the Washington County TSP Virtual Open House, available until July 22, 2012.
