Portland’s favorite open streets event returns to Southeast Portland for its fourth year!
On August 26, Southeast Portland will host Sunday Parkways from 11 am to 4 pm with eight miles of neighborhood streets open to people walking, biking, and enjoying what our streets have to offer.
There will be fun activities, vendors, and all sorts of yummy food. Events are at Laurelhust, Colonel Summers, Ivon, and Mt. Tabor Parks. Plus, there will be live music, free basic bicycle repair, a bouncy castle at Ivon Park, and a photo booth at Colonel Summers Park! For those who are really adventurous, try out the slip and slide at Laurelhurst Park.
The BTA is partnering to host a bike/truck safety demonstration at SE 41st and Salmon. Stop by anytime between 11 and 4.
For the pedal power enthusiast, you can make your own smoothie with the power of your bicycle. If you want to get some dancing in your day, go to Colonel Summers park, which will have all kinds of dancing, from Zumba to the “belly” variety.
Plan your day and find out more from the highlights brochure found hereĀ .
If you want to get some walking in, the Hawthorne Street Fair will also be happening between 32nd and 52nd Avenues. There will be vendors and live music. The street will be open to auto traffic.
You can find out all the fun details at the Sunday Parkways Page on the PBOT website.
I’ll be there!
