Want to Change the World? Get A Kid Excited About Biking.

It is time to sign up to help teach the next generation of Oregon cyclists.

Ride with kids!
We ride with classes of 4th and 5th graders every Friday (sometimes Thursday) in the fall. Click on a shift to sign to RSVP. I will send out a reminder the Monday and Thursday before your ride.

Fix bikes that the kids ride.
We fix bikes every third Saturday from 10am-2pm, just click on a shift to let me know you’re coming. I will send out a reminder the Thursday before the event.

Live the Revolution.
Live the Revolution is a storytelling party for Sugar Wheel Works and fundraiser for the BTA’s bike safety program. I will be there and want you to come too. Volunteer if you like, but justĀ COME! It is going to be rad.

Go team,
LeeAnne

Now in this I *am* an (freelance) activist. I’d love to run a communinity co-op with bikes and parts and tools and workstands – a place for the kids to drop in and hang out.

Another way to get kids excited… not discouraged(!) is to be respectful to them when they are riding with other bikers. I’ve witnessed a couple of cyclists be rude to young cyclist on bridges. These youngesters were going no slower than a slow adult. Please be considerate and leave the next generation with a good impression! No need to act like a stereotype from Portlandia.
