Save the date, Bike Commute Challenge riders!
On October 10, 2012 the BTA will be announcing this year’s Challenge winners at The Game on the Rose Quarter Campus (on the other side of the fountain from the Rose Garden), 5-7:30 pm.
The Challenge isn’t over yet, and it’s not to late to sign up! Log your trips at www.bikecommutechallege.com.
Logging at least one trip this last week will help boost your team’s commute rate and will guarantee you a ticket in for this year’s awards party!
Come celebrate with tasty pizza provided by Hotlips and beer from Hopworks. On your way in the door, grab a $5 bottomless BCC pint glass and a door prize drawing ticket. (Get an extra prize drawing ticket if you show up in your 2012 BCC T-shirt!)
What’s New This Year: Winter Commuting Marketplace
Come by and stock up on items you need to enjoy bike commuting through the winter weather headed our way. There will be lights, hats, rain gear, helmets, basic tools and more!
Didn’t get a BCC 2012 t-shirt yet? We’ll have those too.
Make sure to log those trips and join us at the awards party!

Just a suggestion: holding the party on a weekday from 5:00-8:00 PM makes it yet another of those BTA Portland-centric things that people fuss about.
I will be sacrificing about 2.5 hours of sleep to attend. Should be worth it but my early pre-dawn shifts do deter me from a lot of weekday evening events.
Well, it’s Lastday. (Is there renewal at Carousel? Should I make a run instead?
If Aaron logs a trip today I’m off the podium. I gave up on 1st and slacked off when Jeff’s intention became apparent early on. Dave is a dedicated real bike commuter and perennial contender and deserved the trophy last year.
Fantastic ride this morning – shorts and sandals and summer kit before sunup.
… Hmmm.. I’m already out of contention for podium. Did Mark already ride home from work? Or logged the trip before riding it? Planning to take the bus home? Oh, well – congrats anyway (Aaron might still bump you, though).
Unless… I could take the *loooong* way home…
… Wait a sec’ – it’s not the last day. Two days left to go.
Looks like I’ll probably wind up 5th. Would have been 2nd if I hadn’t slacked off, but BTDT. If I’m going to do whatever it takes like ricke of Chris or Jeff (and take my word for it my situation is such that I could) I’d take the month off and save it for the GDR and ride all day.
I recognize the apparent narcicism. “Maybe I’ve been too focused on the boots, and my stretchy pants, and all my fame.”
Loved it!
Had a great time! Wish I had more miles to contribute.
Out of towners looking to celebrate the end of September’s BCC this year! What does it cost to get into the party? Can spouses join the registered commuters? Sounds like a great time, thanks for the updates!
signed- Team MCMC!!
