The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that lane closures will be necessary on Southwest Barbur Boulevard between Southwest Sheridan Street and Southwest Viewpoint Terrace beginning Monday, October 8, through Friday, October 19, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each week day. The closures are necessary to remove the existing pavement and repave the street between Southwest Hooker Street and Southwest Viewpoint Terrace.
The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
Local access to residences and businesses will be provided. This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
To avoid potential traffic conflicts in Southwest Portland during the week of Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail girder installations, the repaving of Southwest Fifth Avenue, Southwest Sheridan Street, and Southwest Barbur Boulevard between Southwest Sheridan Street and Southwest Hooker Street will be moved to next paving season along with the new bike lane striping and lane configuration changes originally scheduled with this paving project.
