The “Easy Button” is here, it’s called Walk+Bike Day

“Take care of all the details you can, then for the rest… just wing it!” – me

August has been crazy, September is lookin’ busier, and I’m guessing you are in the same boat.

So here’s what I propose: Take the easy way to get back to school and sign up for International Walk+Bike to School Day!

You can choose your own adventure – will you be an Inspirational Spark, a Super Star, or the Incredible Hulk?

Adventure #1: Make Walk+Bike to School Day super simple! You are an Inspirational Spark.

Step 1: Sign up your school for International Walk+Bike to School Day.

Step 2: Receive your incentives mailed to your school.

Step 3: Put a couple flyers up in the halls and in the office at school (included in the incentives box)

Step 4: Get to school a bit early on October 9th and pass out the incentives to kids you see walking and biking (included in the incentives box).

Step 5: Take yourself out to happy hour the next chance you get! You deserve it.

Want to take it to the next level? Great! You are a Super Star.

Step 1: Sign up your school for International Walk+Bike to School Day.

Step 2-3: See above

Step 4: Go to a staff meeting and PTA meeting to recruit adults to help lead walking school buses and pick a couple meeting spots a within a quarter mile or so from the school.

Step 5: Promote the meeting places to families, let them know that they can park near one of the meeting places and walk with their kids into school.

Step 6: Set up a table out on front of the School on October 9th, get some coffee donated for tired parents, and pass out incentives (included in the incentives box) to the kids that walk and bike!

Step 7: Treat yourself to a massage! You deserve it.

Ready for the pinnacle? You are the Incredible Hulk of walking and bicycling.
