Today’s Bike Commute Challenge Photo of the Day comes from Living Room Realty, “a group of professional, experienced, licensed real estate agents who specialize in representing buyers and sellers in Portland’s inner urban neighborhoods.” Living Room Realty has done a tremendous job documenting their office’s experiences with the Bike Commute Challenge; they’ve wrote extensively on their blog about their participation, but they are having trouble finding a suitable challenger willing to bet a pizza party on their Bike Commute Challenge performance.
As Sarah McBee, Agent Services Manager at Living Room Realty, writes:
We’re Throwing Down the Gauntlet! For four years running (spinning), Living Room Realty has been searching for another real estate agency to challenge in the BTAʼs Bike Commute Challenge. For four years, no one has taken us up on this challenge. This year we’re sweetening the pot! If you take our challenge and win, we’ll bring the beer and pizza. If we win, you’ll bring the beer and pizza. You don’t need any fancy gear — just a bike, a helmet, and heart!
Cʼmon, this is no fun alone! If Nike and Intel can do it, so can real estate agencies. Year after year we prove, we’re 100% committed to building stronger communities. We keep proving that we truly advocate for smart growth and vibrant neighborhoods. Prove to us and Portland that you’re doing the same! Get out of your cars and onto your bikes. We dare you!
We here at the Bicycle Transportation Alliance are eager to see someone step forward and challenge Living Room Realty to close out the month of September for the Bike Commute Challenge. Just know that it won’t be an easy feat to win that pizza party; Living Room Realty’s BCC team has already registered 234 miles; their team is led by Living Room Realty’s Captain Daniel Fleischer, who has logged 136 of those miles on his own. Their team is well on their way to surpassing their record of 300 miles set during last year’s Challenge.
If you’d like to Issue a Challenge to Living Room Realty (or any other of the 1100 teams in our database!), head over to the Team Profile Page of the team you’d like to face off against and click the “Issue Challenge” page at the top of the screen. You can face off against individuals, teams, and organizations, or, as Team Captain, you can add your team to one of the many Bike Commute Challenge leagues.
Thanks for the photos, Living Room Realty! It’s great to see so many new innovative business models spin off of Oregonians’ love of bicycling; we’re looking forward to seeing you finish off the month strong. Here’s to hoping you can find a worthy competitor in your efforts to #bikemore this September. And if you have a great story about betting pizza, trophies or other bragging rights, please send them in; we would love to feature you on our Photo of the Day series.
