Portlanders who bike to work can now turn on the radio to get their bike commute traffic updates right alongside the morning traffic report.
The Bicycle Transportation Alliance has teamed up with Clear Channel/Total Traffic Network and New Seasons Market on a first-of-its-kind campaign to deliver multi-modal commute news in a city where more people are discovering that biking is a fun, safe, and convenient way to get to work.
The BTA stays informed about construction projects or detours that will impact bike routes. When we have advance notice about an interruption, that information is included in one of the pre-recorded spots. If there are no delays or detours to report, we’ll use the airtime to deliver other relevant news to people who ride to work.
The reports air on most Clear Channel radio stations and on IHeartRadio. In the clips below you can listen to what they sound like on the air. (Our spot comes on at the end of each clip.)
Wherever you ride, the BTA is there
You can also report traffic updates and follow our Bike Traffic Alerts on Twitter, @PDXBikeTraffic, or you can let us know what traffic looks like via email at PDXBikeTraffic@btaoregon.org.
