Five Alice Awards, one Bud Clark award, given on Saturday night

On Saturday night, in the company of 715 BTA members, supporters, friends and volunteers, we honored and thanked five great bike advocates for the work they’ve done to make Oregon and SW Washington communities bike friendly. They were given Alice B. Toeclips Awards:

Senator Ginny Burdick, who represents SW Portland.
Jonathan Maus of

Kelly Punteney, Vancouver, WA.

Kevin Chudy, the owner of Bike N’ Hike stores in Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Milwaukie, Albany and Corvallis.

Rainier Farmer, of OSU in Corvallis.

Plus, one bike advocate was given a Bud Clark Award for Lifetime Achievement:

michael-ronkin-accepting.jpgMichael Ronkin, the recently retired ODOT Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Manager, and a state and national expert on bike and pedestrian design.

Thank you to everyone who came and helped us honor these great bike heros!
