Over the weekend of March 23rd and 24th the Bicycle Transportation Alliance hosted the BTA Bike Swap at the PDX Bicycle Show. Organized by BTA Board Member Lois Moss, the BTA Bike Swap was a fantastic success.
Throughout Saturday the Bike Swap area was abuzz with people. We sold so much that we took in tables full of new donations Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning to keep lots of gear and clothes stocked through the second afternoon.
We also had a great crew of volunteers to help make all the transactions go quickly and smoothly.
We also made some great friends, including Brent Thomas of Bike Wrappers, who donated some Reflective Bike Wraps to the BTA, and Joel Morrissette, a BTA member and volunteer from Intel who wants to see more bicycle-focused transportation projects on the Intel Campus.
Thanks to all the donations people so generously offered, we raised over $5000 for the BTA and donated a truck full of used parts and gear to the Community Cycling Center!
Thank you to everyone who donated gear, volunteered their time, or stopped by the BTA Bike Swap! Special thanks, also, to Aaron McBride and Pedal Nation Events for letting the BTA & CCC be a part of the PDX Bicycle Show!
