It starts to get dark very early now that Daylight Savings is over!
This weekend we rolled back the clocks. Now the days will be gettin’ shorter, the air a bit cooler, and we’ll all start gettin’ cozy earlier in the evenings. But early sunsets also means nighttime commutes, and we want everyone to be safe this winter on their trips home. That’s why the BTA will be partnering with Trimet to hand out lights and reflective stickers to commuters at Peace Park
on November 6th 4:30-6:30pm. Roll on by and pick up some gear to help keep yourself seen at night all winter long.
Remember that the law requires you to have a front white light on your bicycle when it’s dark, and a rear light is never a bad idea! And remember that dim light, bad weather, and wet pavement can all hide hazards. Whether you’re riding a bike or driving a car, be sure to keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel or handlebars.
Be sure to stop by and say hello to BTA staff and volunteers as we hand out lights and reflectors to commuters this Wednesday, November 6th!
