Cynthia Newton, trial lawyer, bicycling and pedestrian advocate, and partner at Swanson, Thomas, Coon & Newton, will present her free clinic “The Cyclist in All of Us” at the BTA’s headquarters (618 NW Glisan, #401) on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:00pm.
Cynthia’s clinic addresses bicycling basics and the rights, safety concerns, and practical solutions to some of Portland’s greatest challenges: right hook collisions, sidewalk/curb cut/crosswalk interactions, left hand turn approaches and taking the lane.
Cynthia is particularly sensitive to the concerns of the less aggressive rider — whether they be female or not — who may not be comfortable in all situations on the road.
Because Cynthia seeks to empower people of all abilities and ambitions, she has spoken to a wide range of audiences about cycling, from the newly formed Ride Like a Girl group to the more experienced riders at Daimler Chrysler who follow the challenging route to Swan Island.
Cynthia encourages YOUR questions and participation in the informal clinic setting. For more information contact Cynthia at firstname.lastname@example.org or Stephanie Noll of the BTA at email@example.com.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
