One of our Blueprint priorities is a complete Westside Trail to provide a safe north-south connection for people to bike and walk in our region. Metro regional government has completed the master plan for the trail, and other agencies will be voting to adopt the plan in the coming months.

When finished, this 25-mile off-street route will connect nearly 120,000 people to jobs, schools, parks, public transit hubs, and services in King City, Tigard, Beaverton, and Portland- and your support will move it forward.

Sign our petition in support of the Westside Trail before Multnomah County, Metro, Washington County, and other partners vote to adopt the master plan!

You can also email, call or write your elected officials directly at Metro, Multnomah County, Washington County, and the cities of Portland, Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, and King City to tell them you support the Westside Trail Master Plan. Here are some ideas of what you could say:

  • Thank you for supporting the development of the Westside Trail Master Plan.
  • This trail is greatly needed by 120,00 people across the Metro region who want a family-friendly biking and walking route to jobs, schools, parks, grocery stores and other important services.
  • Add your own reasons for supporting the trail!
  • Please adopt the Westside Trail Master Plan.

The Bicycle Transportation Alliance has been working with staff from Metro and local partner agencies like Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District to make sure the trail works well for bicyclists of all ages and skill levels, from confident long-distance commuters to families on their way to the playground. Now it’s time for you to show your support for the trail!

We need more human powered opportunities for travel and commuting where having to deal with being run down by a multi-ton vehicle is eliminated.
The web page is messed up! There are lines printed on top of one another so it is very hard to read.
