The September Bike Commute Challenge is right around the corner and we’re excited to see so many people commuting to work by bike in this annual event. To ensure that your commute is a breeze, we invite you to attend our Legal Clinic where you will learn your rights and responsibilities on the road. Whether you’re an experienced commuter or just bought your bike and are eager to start riding, it’s always important to stay up to date with current Oregon rules of the road.
On August 27th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, bicycle lawyer Ray Thomas will be hosting a legal clinic at the BTA office. For over a decade, Ray Thomas has been sharing his wisdom with people around the state in this 60-minute workshop on bicyclists’ rights and responsibilities on the road.
The Legal Clinic will cover Oregon bicycle and pedestrian laws, insurance information, and what to do if you’re in a crash, among other things. It will also include a lively Q&A session, and attendees will receive a free copy of Thomas’ book, Pedal Power: a Legal Guide for Oregon Cyclists.
So come drink with a lawyer and make sure you know the rules of the road before hitting the streets for this year’s Bike Commute Challenge!
We hope to see you all there!
